'A Sensation of Wrongness': Weird Fiction Workshop with Dr Timothy J. Jarvis

This two-hour workshop will explore writing in the liminal space between horror, fantasy, and the uncanny — tales in the supernatural tradition that don't fit into the neat box of the ghost story, whose hauntings are more troubling and difficult to pin down than spirits returned from the dead.

We will look at the tools and techniques by which sensations of the strange and uncanny can be generated, moving from close reading and discussion to a series of generative writing exercises with the aim of writing a weird flash fiction.

Writers of all levels looking to wander into new terrain are welcome.
